Mindy Tockman Graduates with Honors from Maryville University

Mindy Tockman of Wildwood graduated from Maryville University Saturday, May 4, during commencement ceremonies held in the Simon Athletics Center on campus. Tockman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Maryville's College of Arts and Sciences.

Maryville University President Mark Lombardi conferred degrees during two commencement ceremonies. Anthony Thompson, founder and CEO of St. Louis-based Kwame Building Group, Inc., delivered the commencement address and received an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Maryville.

Maryville conferred 973 degrees, including more than 700 undergraduate degrees, nearly 200 master's degrees and more than 70 doctoral degrees.

More than 400 undergraduates earned academic honors by achieving a cummulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Those graduating cum laude achieved a grade-point average of at least 3.5; those earning the designation of magna cum laude earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7; and those honored with the summa cum laude designation had grade-point averages of at least 3.8 on a 4.0 (perfect) scale.
